Steps:

1. In groups of 3, compare and contrast the 2 abstract macro photos below.

2. Choose the strongest photo. PHOTO A

3. Using complete sentences, write 3 reasons why the photo you chose is the strongest.

1. The shapes are very prominent in this photo.

2. The contrast of the lighter shapes with the darker lines between them are solid.

3. The depth of field is effective in highlighting the details of the closer shapes.

4. Using complete sentences, think of 2 ways photo could be improved.

1. I’m not a huge fan of the mostly one-color nature - needs more color than the just green bit.

2. If there were more variety of shapes, it would add to the overall composition.
