Blog #10: Shadow Triptych Critique

The subject of the triptych is 3 fairytales which is made evident by the use of placing the villain's shadows behind the picture of the hero of those stories. There is not setting; they are placed on blank colored backgrounds. The mood evoked by the photo is a neutral/happy nostaligic mood since it reminds us of childhood. The disney villains are emphasized due to their sole shadows present. Color and balance are the element of art/principle of design used in the photo. The backgrounds are an example of color because they are three different bright colors that bring your attention to each photo separately. Additionally, the arrangement of the shadows behind the heroes is an example of balance because the heroes and their villains are placed in a balanced manner in the photograph.
